It’s been awhile since I posted this video of Jesse singing “Where Have You Been?” with Manchester Orchestra back in 2007. This show was the first time I saw either band play live and I can’t listen to this song without feeling like I’m 19 again, crushed in the middle of that crowd, absolutely breathless for a million different reasons.
On Thursday night I saw Manchester Orchestra play at the same venue. They closed with this song, and while it was a completely different performance from this video and the album version, it didn’t make me any less nostalgic. Music does that to you.

sound is only so-so quality, but watch at least the five minute mark until the end. There is nothing more beautiful than the passion of Andy Hull and Jesse Lacey.
